Simplicity Travels Far
Posted on June 24, 2008
In the newspaper this morning I read an article about a local elementary school principal who decided to get into shape after hearing from his doctor that his weight was putting him at risk for health problems. He lost around 100 pounds in 8 months through regular exercise and better eating habits.
I love reading stories like this one. Here was a guy who realized he was at risk for more serious health problems and he decided to do something about it. He and his wife both decided to get healthier. I love what his wife said: “We basically knew what you need to do to lose weight. I think everybody does; we just kind of ignore it sometimes.” I think that is spot-on.
This principal started by just walking a half-mile every day and eating smaller portions. He said he just made simple changes to his lifestyle and the weight came off. Read the full article here. Congrats Mr. Principal for being healthier. Way to set an example to those around you.

I think this is true; we all know how to be healthy, we simply don’t do it sometimes. This is an inspirational story. I need to work on being more like the principal…
