Physical Activity is Good!

I love to be active. I love to run, bike, swim, play golf, soccer, etc. Anything that keeps me moving. Why? Because I always feel better after. No matter what mood I am in, or what is stressing me, movement keeps me fresh. It gives me more energy and more confidence to do whatever I have to do during the day.
This morning I went up to the mouth of Provo Canyon and jogged along the river trail. 3 miles up the canyon and then 3 miles back. I’m not gonna lie…it was hard.
I didn’t want to go this morning. I was tired. I just wanted to stay home and eat my cereal and watch Sportscenter. I forced myself to go and I am glad I did. I feel so much better now. My legs feel good and I feel more alert.
Physical activity is good for our bodies. We all know that. I am sure most of us want to get some physical activity in every day, but for one reason or another, we can’t always get it.
One thing that has helped me get more physical activity on most days is to do the activities I enjoy. I get impatient and bored really easily by the same stuff all the time and that is why I enjoy triathlons. I can mix up my training and not get bored or burnt out by just running every day or biking every day. I like a variety. That is what works for me. What works for you?
There isn’t just one way to get into better shape. If you enjoy walking then you should walk. If you hate running then don’t run. Like soccer? Play more soccer. Yoga, pilates, biking, running, swimming, etc. are all great activities that will help your body get the health benefits it needs. Find something you enjoy and get moving. Your body will thank you someday.

I try to take daily walks with Lainey, and it really does help me feel better afterwards. I am grateful to be healthy enough that I can do it!
