Is Hypnosis the Answer?
Posted on September 24, 2008
This morning I grab my banana and bowl of cereal, open up the local newspaper and here’s what I see:

I got a good laugh out of this as I read it. So, apparently, you can pay 50 bucks, go get hypnotized, and you will lose weight. Simple. Easy. No effort. Hmmm…I don’t think so.
Here’s an excerpt from the ad:
“My program uses hypnosis and is designed to help eliminate unwanted cravings, eat smaller portions, eliminate late day eating binges, increase energy and improve sleep.”
This part is my favorite:
“Join the thousands who have turned to America’s #1 method for losing weight.”
Seriously? Is this guy for real? If you want to know the REAL ways people have lost weight and kept it off, check out what I wrote about the National Weight Control Registry Findings.
This ad is just another great example of all the crazy weight loss programs/products out there. Does it work? I don’t know, nor will I find out. But I do have a hunch that hypnosis IS NOT the answer.
Don’t buy the hype. Stick to the proven basics.
