5K for Nie Nie

This morning I was able to participate in a 5K for Stephanie and Christian Nielson and their recovery fund. The Nielsons were in a plane crash on August 16th, 2008 along with Christian’s flight instructor, Doug Kinneard. Sadly, Doug Kinneard passed away soon after arriving at the hospital and Stephanie and Christian suffered severe burns over their bodies. The Nielsons face a long time of recovery and expenses.

I went to high school with Stephanie in Provo, Utah. I didn’t know her very well but my older brother was a friend of hers. I wish Stephanie and Christian and their families all the best on their road to recovery.

The 5K was a great event this morning and there were a lot of people supporting the Nielsons. I’m glad I could do a little to help.
