How I Make a Good Omelette

Posted on October 30, 2008

So this morning I realized when I was about to eat breakfast that I was out of milk and cereal.  Luckily I had a backup plan –an easy-to-make, tasty omelette.

Clearly I’m no expert chef, but I can hold my own in the kitchen.  My wife loves that about me!  So here’s how I made my omelette this morning:

1.  Beat two eggs in a bowl.  Add whatever spices you want.  I usually add a little garlic and black pepper.

2.  Spray fying pan with cooking spray and pour eggs onto pan.  Add on one half of the eggs whatever you want (see below).  Today I had leftover green peppers, onions, and roasted red potatoes.  I also added a little bit of shredded cheeese. Sometimes I’ll add chopped up tomatoes, grilled chicken, etc.  The choice is yours. Add what you like.

3.  Let it cook for a couple of minutes and then fold the half without the toppings onto the other half.  Let it cook for a couple more minutes.

4.  Flip the omelette and let the other side cook for a minute or two.  When you think it’s done, it probably is!

Here’s what my finished omelette looked like this morning:

It was pretty tasty.  Try one.  Also, check out The Power of Eggs and see why you should include eggs into your healthy diet.

YUM! My omelets never look that good (though they’re still mighty tasty). I’ll be referring to this post the next time I make omelets!

Of course you could use egg whites (I guess, I only cook popcorn and toast)
