Will You Live to 100?
Posted on November 3, 2008
I was cruising around on CNN.com this morning and I found a video about a study that shows how running can help you live longer and healthier. Here it is:
(Can’t see video? Go here).
I think this is an interesting study that has good news: Exercise is good for us.
One thing that caught my attention from the video was a website Dr. Gupta mentions. It’s called Livingto100.com.
It’s a site where you can go to predict how long you will live based on your answers to questions about your lifestyle, health, and family history. It’s kinda fun and after you’re done it gives you feedback on what you can do better. It calculated me to live until 94 so I guess there are some things I can definitely improve!
Check it out to find out how you can improve your chances of living healthier for longer.

Very cool Blake! Thanks for sharing! Hope your weekend was awesome!
I would only like to live to 100 if I am still able to function without a machine keeping me alive. My friend’s grandmother lived to 114, but for the last 18 years, basically the machines were keeping her alive while she was in coma. Her grandmother finally passed away last year, but during that 18 year period, there was a dozen times when the family thought she was not going to be able to make it.
@M Thanks.
@asithi I agree — I would only want to live long if I was relatively healthy. By living healthy I hope to delay the onset of chronic diseases. Thanks for your comment!
As I am prone to say, exercise is the closest thing we have to a fountain of youth.
Thanks Blake
@James Hubbard, M.D., M.P.H. Thanks! It really is!
It turns out I should live to be 92 years old, so it looks like you are going to outlive me! I guess I better start exercising a little more often
@Emily Hagen Yeah you better step it up!
My life expectancy from livingto100.com is 66. I’m 26. I’m scared…
