Make Changes That Last a Lifetime
Posted on December 8, 2008
A quick thought to get you started today. I share this because everyday I see/hear ads that promote quick health fixes and miracle products. You don’t need those products. You need to make healthy lifestyle changes that you can stick with for the rest of your life.
“People who have the most success, not just with losing weight but with maintaining a healthy way of life, make incremental changes to their diet and their activity levels that can be maintained for the long term. That is really the key to success: Whatever you are going to do, you have to be able to make it a long-term habit.”
Emphasis added. From here. Read it. It’s good.
Pass this on to those who need a reminder.

Thanks Blake! Good stuff!
Odds are, it took a while for most dieters to get “out of shape”
Doesn’t it make sense that it might take some time to get back “into shape”
Especially considering the fact that in less than a month’s time, the book stores will be jammed with a whole bunch of celebrity diets and workouts.
DR´s last blog post..Dr. Dean Ornish: The world now eats (and dies) like Americans
@Mark Thanks for stopping by.
@DR I agree. Funny how people forget that. Thanks.
Great point Blake. I’ve, too, found that this has to be a lifestyle change – not the latest “miracle” out there. For nutrition, I love the Dove message – don’t diet, just eat right. I find this to be such a strong statement. Diet connotes something we go on – and if we go on, that also means we’ll probably also come off – and when we do – what’s going to happen???
Lance´s last blog post..Let’s All Just Let It Flow
@Lance Yup. Once people go back to their old ways, the weight, or unhealthiness, usually comes back. It has to be a lifestyle change!
You are right on Blake.
