Stand Up and Eat

Posted on January 22, 2009

I found a really cool web site from the Cooper Institute called Stand Up (more) & Eat (better).  Here’s their purpose:

“The Stand Up (more) & Eat (better) web site is an educational and participatory site to help people balance the calories they eat with the calories they burn each day. We are promoting ’calorie literacy’.”

They’ve got a blog and other tools and articles to help everyone get more physical activity and start eating healthier.  While physical activity and healthy eating aren’t everything, both are things that if we all did a little better, we’d definitely be on the right track for better health.

In case you’re wondering what the Cooper Institute is, here’s who they are:

“The Cooper Institute is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) center that was founded in 1970 by Kenneth H. Cooper, M.D., M.P.H. who believed that it was as important to try to prevent disease through exercise and good nutrition as it was to treat and cure it.”

Cruise on over and have some fun.  I think you’ll find the site interesting and educational.  While you’re there, don’t forget to Join the Burn.

Great site and information wish there were more information on the nutritional values and break down of those values in a daily type of schedule, otherwise, wonderful site!
