One Day at a Time

Posted on February 23, 2009

“Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.  It knows that it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed.

Every morning a lion wakes up.  It knows that it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve.

It doesn’t matter if you are a lion or a gazelle.  When the sun comes up, you had better be running.”

Source unknown (to me).

I’ve read and heard this a number of times and thought it was worth sharing on this fine Monday morning.  Every day is a great day to work hard towards reaching our goals, whatever they may be, health or otherwise.

Live one day at a time and enjoy it.  I struggle with that and this is a reminder for me to do better.

Have a fantastic Monday.

I have heard this one before too.

Thank goodness those of us who depend on the grocery store are not a part of the animal wild kingdom!

What a great reminder! Sometimes I feel like my goals are taking me too long to achieve… although when I look back at when I started, I’ve really come a long way. I’ve never heard this before… I’m glad you shared! By the way, aren’t you welcoming a baby into your lives pretty soon? You’ll have to let us all know when you guys have your baby!

@Liz Glad you liked it. Yeah, our baby girl is due a week from tomorrow. My wife is hoping that she comes a little early, but who knows?! Don’t worry, I’ll let everyone know!
