Physical Activity Pyramid

Posted on February 17, 2009

This is the “Activity Pyramid”1 as published in ACSM’s Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription.

Now this pyramid isn’t perfect and there are plenty of other activities that we can do, but in my opinion, this is a decent guide for most people. If sedentary people started to incorporate this, they would certainly see benefits of physical activity.

Cool pyramid – especially the top part. Sit sparingly – great advice, huh?
