“What they found was that the most active adults were significantly less likely to have died from cardiovascular disease, cancer, or any cause than the least active adults. A BMI in the obese range also increased the risk of death in all three categories, but not as much as being inactive did.”

This is a favorite dinner in our house. Whole wheat pasta with grilled zucchini and chicken, chopped up roma tomatoes, topped with a store-bought garlic and herb sauce mix.
No recipe needed. Just grill up some chicken, grill up the zuchhini and tomatoes, add it all to the cooked pasta and add some sauce. Boom. Dinner time.

I saw this over at Triathlon Jones and loved it. For those that have done triathlons, you’ll recognize the sights and love the lyrics. Those that haven’t yet done a tri, this is what it’s like.

“Even a little exercise does a lot. If your goal is good health, you don’t need to train for marathons. You just need to look for opportunities to be more active throughout the day.”
– Tedd Mitchell, M.D., president and CEO of Dallas’ Cooper Clinic, from here.
There’s always time for physical activity. Be consistent.
Pass the Salt

“Some salt is crucial for good health, of course — to regulate blood pressure and assist with muscle and nerve function — but too much (that is, at the levels we currently consume) can lead to hypertension, heart disease and stroke.”

I found a recipe for whole wheat pancakes a few weeks ago and I finally made them this morning. With the new little one around here, sometimes we have some early mornings and these pancakes hit the spot.
Find the recipe here (her pic looks way better than mine!) at Liz Rosenbaum Fitness.
These are really easy [...]
