Be Healthy with 5, 2, 1, 0

Posted on May 12, 2009

I saw this poster (this one’s in spanish) at the pediatrician’s office the other day.  Thought it had some good points that if followed – on a regular basis — could provide a great start to a healthier lifestyle.

  • 5 fruits/vegetables per day
  • 2 hours or less each day of screen time (TV, computer/video games)
  • 1 hour or more of physical activity each day
  • Try to limit sugary drinks to 0.  Stick with water and milk

These are great things to do for everyone and hopefully parents can help their kids create good habits now.

It is nice that the advice is so simple to remember. I’m going to keep this in mind for my kids!
