Don’t Do This in the Water
Posted on May 26, 2009
“A big health message is not to urinate or pee in the water.”
– Michele Hlavsa, an epidemiologist in the division of parasitic diseases at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [via cnn.com here].
You’d think this wouldn’t need to be said, but in a recent survey 1 in 5 adults admitted to peeing in public pools. For the record, I don’t go in the pool anymore, but when I was a kid I did. Just seemed easier, right?
The bottom line is people can get sick from public pools and it’s better to teach our kids (and adults) not to go in the pool.
Summer is here… let’s enjoy clean pools!

When I decide to have children, we are getting our own PRIVATE pool for this very reason. I can remember having so much fun in the pool until I realized it is literally a large toilet. I really don’t understand how people could let their children go to these places. Regards!
