Hydroxycut is Out

Posted on May 4, 2009

Have you seen the TV ads with the young, good looking “doctor” who says Hydroxycut is the only thing that helped him lose weight and get a “great body?”  Ooops.

The FDA is now warning consumers to stop taking Hydroxycut due to potential liver damage:

“The FDA has received 23 reports of serious health problems ranging from jaundice and elevated liver enzymes, an indicator of potential liver injury, to liver damage requiring liver transplant. One death due to liver failure has been reported to the FDA. Other health problems reported include seizures; cardiovascular disorders; and rhabdomyolysis, a type of muscle damage that can lead to other serious health problems such as kidney failure.”

[From FDA news release].

So what’s the take-home message here?  Get rid of the bogus supplements, etc. that promise you the world, but only give you potential serious health problems and a skinnier wallet.
