The Bikini Burger?

Posted on August 5, 2009

Have you seen the Carl’s Jr. commercial with Audrina from MTV’s “The Hills?”  It shows her in a barely-there bikini chomping down on a “Teriyaki Six-Dollar Burger.”  In the commercial, as the camera goes up and down her body, she says, as only a true air head could say, “I call it my [*long, dramatic pause*] bikini burger.”

Here’s a confession.  I ate one last night. : )  We’ll, my wife really wanted one, so, in the name of “research,” we tried them out.  Tasted ok, actually.  But my tummy felt the pain after.  Let’s check out the nutrition facts and see why:

The Teriyaki Six-Dollar Burger

Calories: 840

Fat: 43g

Saturated Fat: 18g

Carbohydrate: 69g

Protein: 45g

Sodium: 1760mg

Really?  So that’s the bikini burger.  Hear that ladies?  The more you eat these the more you might get that body you’ve been dying to have.

Luckily the wife and I had some apples and oranges after to wash the burgers down.  That seemed to calm down the tummy.  Also, it was a good thing I ran 6 miles earlier in the day too.

Look, I’m not saying never eat a “bikini burger” or any other thing you know is not that great for you.  Just be smart.  Oh yeah, and don’t believe everything you see on commercials.

Every time I drive past the billboard with that burger on it, I keep being reminded that I want to make my own version. Now I think I really will.

@rookie cookie – yeah a homemade version would prbably taste better and definitely be better health-wise! We got suckered into the ad! :)
