Yum Yum Avocado

Posted on November 19, 2009

Had some turkey burgers for dinner last night topped with some avocado slices.  So good with avocado.  I love those things.  I should’ve taken a picture but I inhaled the food so fast I couldn’t.

Some info about avocados:

“Avocados, like olives, are one fo the few foods that are both rich in healthy fats and free of cholesterol.  The fats in the avocado are primarily the heart-healthy monounsaturated type.”

“Avocados also contain significant amounts of of B vitamins, vitamin E, and folate, as well as fiber”

– William Sears, M.D., et. al. in The Healthiest Kid in the Neighborhood.

I love avocados on sandwiches, in salad, and of course, in awesome guacamole.  How do you like to eat your avocados?

Just the other night we had burritos with avocado in it and it was delicious! I think it was relatively healthy; it had lowfat beans, lean ground beef, tomatoes, lettuce, salsa and avocado. Very tasty!
