Register for an Event

Posted on January 13, 2010

I follow Gale Bernhardt on Twitter and she posted this the other day.  Here’s the link the to article posted in the tweet

Great advice.  Registering for something means you are committed.  It will motivate you.  Try it.  I promise, it works.

Find a good event (anything will do), register, and get moving.  You’ll be happy you did.

What event(s) are you doing this year?

    Great tip, though it’s one I don’t tend to do myself. I’m a crabby loner and not much of an “event” person. But for normal people–excellent idea!

    @Crabby – lol :) Thanks!

    Although I haven’t registered for any races yet this year – I typically do one or two triathlons and a handful of 5K races. They’ve all become fun events to do!

    Good luck to you this upcoming race season!

    @Lance – Awesome! It’s always fun to participate in races. Good luck to you too!

    It’s so true – when you register for an event, you are committed to it and all the work it takes to get ready for it. The same works for me when I sign up for fitness classes at the gym. But since it’s winter, I am sticking to workout DVDs in my home for awhile… ;)

    It is good to have that event to motivate you to train hard.

    @FatFighterTV – Yeah, my wife likes the classes too.. when she signs up, she goes. She also likes the DVDs at home.

    @karen – For sure!
