Why

I try my best to maintain healthy eating and exercise habits because I want to give myself the best chance of living chronic-disease free for as long as I can.  I want to live a long, healthy life along side my wife and daughter (and any other kids that come our way).  I’m not perfect at it, but I try everyday. 

That’s why.

Please comment on why you execise and/or eat healthy.  I am really curious about your reasons.  If you never have left a comment, or never do again, that’s fine.  Looking forward to your responses.

    My name is Geoff Goldsborough, Im married to Emily's childhood friend Ellen Carlson. We have always strived to eat healthy, who doesnt right? But in the last few years of learning about diet and healthy we have evolved a great deal. I remember not too long ago hearing Dr. Oz on Opera talking about avoiding processed food, sugar, white flower, etc. So we cut those things out of our diet. Then I saw a documentary called “Simply Raw” and thought I should start eating more raw fruits and veges. Then I saw a documentary called “The Beautifull Truth” and thats what sold me on the Gerson diet. Since I have been applying the raw food diet I have noticed a clear difference in my healthy and energy. I can even prevent flatulence. I am not a 100% raw foodist, its difficult for me to stay away from cooked grains, and I do eat meat on a rare occasion, but I strive to eat 80-90% raw. To answer the question, of why, it is because I too want to live to be 150 years old and in great shape. I would like to be healthy and live long, and with all Ive read so far diet is pretty key to that. In addition to the future, I want energy now. I am now something of a raw food missionary, though it is hard to get people to listen sometimes. I strongly encourage all to educate themselves on the Gerson diet, and how it can heal people from cancer, diabetes and other diseases. And if it can cure them it certainly can prevent them.     There are lots ways to lose weight. Some people say a balanced diet is good and any other kinds of diets do really have an effect. However, in my opinion, even how much you try to adjust your eating habits, you will always go back to what you were used to. I'd say diet isn't very effective if you don't exercise. Exercising helps a lot when you want to lose weight and at the same time, exercising is healthy.
