			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I did the Aqua Triathlon (sprint &#8211; 350 m swim, 12 mile bike, 3.16 mile run) here in Provo yesterday. It was my first time doing this event and I will do it again next year. Really enjoyed it, especially because it is about 1 mile from my house.</p>
<p>I finished 35th/158 among males, 11th/37 in my age group (M 25-29). Overall happy with my times after pretty minimal training. Need to focus on getting faster on the bike. I want to say that it is <em>because</em> I don&#8217;t have a great bike that my time wasn&#8217;t as good as I wanted, but the fact is, my bike is what it is. I need to train smarter.</p>
<p>Next event is the Turkey Tri on November 5th. Last year I set a new PR at that event by 4 mins. Planning to set a new PR this year.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Been struggling with asthma related issues lately as the weather has been changing. Runs and rides cut short, and my inhaler has no effect. This happens every year so you&#8217;d think I&#8217;d be used to it, but nope.</p>
<p>It really stinks because as I have been breathing really deeply to get enough air it has made some of my upper-back muscles (and other muscles you never knew affect your breathing) super sore. Makes swimming or doing anything else really painful.</p>
<p>Excited to get into the doc today and get this taken care of. I have a sprint-tri in less than 2 weeks and I plan on setting a personal best at this event, with or without any asthma issues. But it sure would be nice to not have to worry about it!</p>
<p>My asthma is very well controlled all year except for this time of year. So frustrating! : )</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Tonight is date night and I&#8217;m pumped. Wife and I are going to the rec center to hit the pool for a good workout. We haven&#8217;t been able to get to the pool together to workout in a few years. Babysitter is set and I finally get to swim with my &#8220;coach.&#8221;</p>
<p>She swam in high school so she&#8217;s a lot better as far as skills go so that&#8217;s nice. She helped me learn how to swim better after she saw me doggy-paddling in my first tri a few years ago. I figured I already knew how to swim so how hard could it be to swim just 350 yards. Wife kept telling me I should practice, but being the stubborn guy that I am, I didn&#8217;t listen. She still makes fun of me for that first tri-swim experience. It was ugly.</p>
<p>I haven&#8217;t had to doggy-paddle in a triathlon since then. : ) Anyway, this is gonna be a fun date night. We&#8217;re gonna race and I&#8217;m gonna smoke her!  Well, maybe not.</p>
