Check out this post at Fake Food Free for some thoughts on holiday eating. Really a great post.

After you’ve soaked that in, check out this post from Remarks from Sparks for a reminder that we really do need to care about our health, especially our eating habits. Thanks to Rookie-Cookie for sending me the link.

Finish off with a post from Dr. J about staying on course in flight and in fitness. I love aviation and back in middle school I actually logged a few hours learning to fly. This post will help you stay –or get on– the right track.

Here are some of the many great articles I’ve read over the last week or so:

The guys at Obesity Panacea wrote a great post about a study that suggests that ”kids who are more active today will have less fat mass tomorrow.” Great article and great blog.

If you have ever thought you’re too old to start being active, check out this post from Stacey Shipman to help inspire you. No matter how old you think you are, you’re never too old.

Fithacks has some great info on running in the cold. It’s already freezing here in Utah and tips to stay warm and active are always appreciated.

I like to scarf down my food and my wife always has to remind me to slow down. Here is an article that discusses how slower eating can help us eat less, especially during the holiday season. Interesting.

Also of note, an article from the NY Times talks about “The Biggest Loser” and how health sometimes takes a backseat on the show.

Stay active and stay healthy this weekend.

The Health Aspect of Playing a Sport is a great read about some of the health benefits we can get from playing sports. Ask my wife, she’ll tell you how much I love to play (and watch) sports!

Check out these Bean and Sweet Potato Nachos from A Life Less Sweet. Wow, these look good. I haven’t made them yet but I plan on it. Again, just ask my wife how much I love beans and sweet potatoes. :)

While we’re on the topic of food, check out this Zucchini Quiche with Whole Wheat Crust. I’m a big fan of quiche. My mom-in-law makes a great one, but I’ve never done it. I’m making this one for sure.

Let’s top everything off with What’s more important? Diet, exercise or Lifestyle? Is one better than the other or are all 3 important. Read and decide.

Have a great weekend. I’m gonna try and fix my golf swing.

The Tempation of Soda Taxes from Marion Nestle’s blog is an interesting read. Check out the graph that shows the prices of soda and prices of fruits/veggies in last 10 years.

The Tempation of Soda Taxes from Marion Nestle’s blog is an interesting read. Check out the graph that shows the prices of soda and prices of fruits/veggies in last 10 years.

I’m not a “hard core” cyclist like a lot of people, but I have had some close calls with cars while out on my bike. Honestly, it bugs me how cars think they own the road. This article from EverymanTri talks about the motorist vs. cyclist relationship, and how scary it can be.

Next on the list is Do You Celebrate with Food? I love Mary’s blog and this post talks about how a lot of times we celebrate occasions — big and small — with food. Check out her take on the topic.

Have a look at Oklahoma Running Mom’s post about her marathon. I have true admiration for marathoners. A great accomplishment.

This next one is for the dad’s in honor of Father’s day last week (late, I know). Here’s How to be a Better Sports Dad from ESPN. It’s true about teaching your kid how to throw a ball… : )

Have a great weekend. I’m hoping this rain get’s out of here so I can play some golf and get some runs in.

From the Nutrition Data Blog read about How Cooking affects Antioxidants. If you don’t read the whole article, at least read the last paragraph.

Hit up Health Habits to learn Why You Need Aerobic Exercise. We all know we need it, but maybe this post will motivate you to get moving.

Top your reads off with the 2009 Sports Nutrition Guidelines from beginnertriathlete.com. Here you’ll find some good nutrition principles for athletes.

I’ve read some good stuff this week and wanted to share a few with you.
First, Easter is coming up and it might be good to know what’s in that basket. WebMD has a good post about Easter Basket Treats. Remember, enjoy your treats in moderation. :)
You’ve heard me talk about HCG before and here’s another take [...]

I’ve read some good stuff this week and wanted to share a few with you.

First, Easter is coming up and it might be good to know what’s in that basket. WebMD has a good post about Easter Basket Treats. Remember, enjoy your treats in moderation. :)

You’ve heard me talk about HCG before and here’s another take on it from Obesity Panacea. Some good comments follow the post.

Next, read A Gut Reaction to Physical Activity. This talks about physical activity and colon cancer, as you might have guess from the title. Interesting read.

As a new dad, this next post was of interest to me. Fitness as a Dad: Working on a Budget from FitHacks has some good pointers about getting exercise even if there’s no funds in the family budget for it. Hint: you can still be active and healthy while not breaking the bank!

Enjoy the reads and have a great weekend and Easter! Anyone else besides me gonna watch the Masters?
